We're celebrating our 15th year of Walk For Christ this fall! We feel tremendous gratitude for the generosity of our parish community toward St. Joseph School's primary fundraising event. WFC Day is an exciting day for our children, celebrating fellowship and encouraging growth in discipleship through prayer for our community and service to others. It continues to be a wonderful opportunity for you to promote your business throughout our school and parish community. Please respond with your commitment no later than Thursday, August 10 to allow us to use your logo and name in promotions for the event. What is Walk For Christ?
Walk for Christ is St. Joseph School’s yearly fundraiser that combines faith, fun and fellowship in one event. As a family, the fundraising will depend if your child chooses to call friends and families for donations, walk the neighborhood for prayer petitions, or do service projects to raise money. As they witness and share their gifts they return to school with their contributions, having fun along the way! On the final day, the students, parents, and faculty of St. Joseph's School walk a designated route around the school grounds and park area praying for our sponsors, donors, personal intentions, and community along the way.
WFC 2023 will be on Friday, September 22!
Students will wear special shirts on Walk For Christ Day and other special days throughout the school year. A link to order will be available soon, or you can sign up for shirts during the Back-to-School Ice Cream Social from 6:00-7:30 pm on August 10!
There are some exciting goals and rewards this year:
1. If we reach our halfway goal of $15,000 by September 15, an anonymous donor has offered to match the amount, and SFA will host a POPCORN PARTY for all classrooms, and Mr. Naumann will dress up as an ear of corn to make popcorn deliveries!
2. If we reach our final goal of $30,000 by September 20, an anonymous donor has offered to match the amount. And Mr. Naumann will put on an inflatable sumo wrestling suit and take on a challenger in a SUMO WRESTLING MATCH!
In recent years, Walk For Christ funds have provided for improvements to St. Joseph School's technology; gymnasium microphones and audio equipment; funding for buses for class field trips; updates to classrooms, the gym, and cafeteria; new window coverings throughout the school; new playground equipment; teacher/staff appreciation events; student scholarships; preschool para support; community-building events; and many other school improvements. Most importantly, your donation provides an education that recognizes the human dignity and nurtures the gift of each child at St. Joseph School throughout the entire curriculum.
This year, the funds raised will be used to make further improvements to our school building and student facilities. Potential projects include adding an outdoor classrooom and learning equipment to the Mary grotto/interior school courtyard and updates to the school's front entrance. Walk For Christ is an exciting day for our children, celebrating fellowship and encouraging growth in discipleship through prayer for our community and service to others.
